Before installation, first ensure that the installation surface is flat, and the reserved installation position should be greater than the required mosaic thickness of 3-5MM. Before paving, a comprehensive cleaning work should be done. All surfaces should be firm, clean, non-shaking, free of oil stains and other loose objects. Painted or very smooth surfaces should be rough treated. If the substrate is loose and has strong water absorption or the surface is difficult to clean thoroughly, the interface treatment agent can be coated first to help mosaic paste.
Before installation, pre-paving shall be carried out according to the construction and installation drawing. If the area is large, it shall be spliced with the numbered schematic diagram. Ensure that the mosaic is coordinated with the actual size of the installation surface on site. If there is a gap in the middle part of the splicing during pre-laying, the glue and gauze on both sides of the mosaic joint should be cut off and removed until the gap at the joint is normally coordinated. Make auxiliary lines or marks on the mounting surface to ensure that the position of each mosaic can be accurately fixed.
2-3MM serrated spatula will be evenly applied to the adhesive on the base, the thickness of 3-5MM is appropriate. Align the single piece of mosaic with the gaps according to the drawing and place it on the combed adhesive. The gap between the two pieces should usually be roughly the same as the gap between the small particles on each piece. Pad a flat plank on the mosaic surface and beat it evenly with a rubber hammer to ensure a firm bond. If a mosaic is too high or too low, pull off the particles and level them by reducing or increasing the adhesive. If the installation surface is a wall surface, in principle, it should be paved from bottom to top, and it should not be paved too high at one time to prevent collapse caused by large dead weight. Please use auxiliary support to make it close to the wall surface, and the support can be removed only after it has a certain initial strength. When applied in water environment, it is necessary to do a good job of waterproof and crack prevention, and it is recommended to use special adhesives and caulking agents with good waterproof performance.
After the moisture is moderately dry and has the initial strength, clean the surface of the mosaic with a soft sponge cloth, then wipe it with a clean dry cloth, and the caulking can begin. Use a wood or rubber spatula to pour caulk into the gaps in the mosaic. After the filling of the joint sealant is completed, the cleaning work can be started after the water is moderately dried and the initial strength is reached. It should be cleaned until the caulking agent is about 1MM below the mosaic surface, and finally the surface should be cleaned again with a dry soft cloth until the surface is cleaned.
After installation, antique mosaic can be coated with wax water to enhance its color. Polished mosaic can be sprayed with protective agent to increase luminosity and maintain mosaic. Metal mosaic may be oxidized and other phenomena, which can be finally removed.
