[Paste Stable Micro Classroom] How to Choose Tile Adhesive for Different Specifications of Tile Paving?
Nov 22,2023
Ceramic tile glue, also known as ceramic tile adhesive or binder, viscose clay and other names, has good adhesion, flexibility, can effectively prevent tile hollowing off. Mainly used for pasting ceramic tiles, tiles, floor tiles and other decorative materials, widely used in interior and exterior wall surfaces, floors, bathrooms, kitchens and other building decorative places.
In the past, most workers used cement mortar to stick bricks, but now the specifications of bricks are getting bigger and bigger, and they are becoming less and less absorbent. Bricks are becoming more and more difficult to stick, and then cement mortar is used to stick bricks, which is very risky. Therefore, it is necessary to use tile paving adhesive-tile glue to stick tiles. that in the face of an endless stream of large size tiles, how to choose tile glue?
01
Look at the implementation of standards
When it comes to the classification of ceramic tile adhesive, we must first know the implementation standards of ceramic tile adhesive. At present, there are two main reference standards on the market: one is the Chinese building materials industry standard-JC/T 547-2017 "Ceramic Tile Adhesive", and the other is the national standard-GB/T 25181-2019 "Ready-mixed Mortar". There are (DB) local standards and (QY) enterprise standard tile glue, do not do recommend!
All tile adhesives pasted stably adopt JC/T 547-2017 standard.
02
Look at the classification and data indicators of tile glue.
JC/T 547-2017 implementation standard is applicable to 3 types of products, with three English letters to distinguish: CDR.
Cement-based adhesives (C);
paste emulsion based adhesive (D);
Reactive resin adhesive (R).
In the field of building decoration, the most widely used is the cement-based adhesive (C). The tile adhesive sold on the market is classified into C1 and C2 according to the tensile adhesive strength, which is defined by JC/T547-2017 implementation standard.
In addition, according to the product function points: anti slip (T), quick drying type (F), retarding type (E), flexible (S1), high flexibility (S2) and so on. See the following figure in detail:

Knowing the grade of tile glue,
According to the size of the brick, to choose the corresponding tile glue.
1. For small bricks and ordinary ceramic tiles (specifications are generally below 400*800mm), C1 grade ceramic tile glue can be used.
2. For larger brick paving (the specification is generally above 800*800mm), it is recommended to use C2 or C2TE tile adhesive paving.
3. For large plates (specifications above 900*1800mm and 1200*2400mm), C2ES1 grade ceramic tile adhesive or higher configuration (anti-deformation) shall be used, and 1800*3600mm super large plates can be paved with stable rock plate special adhesive.

1. Look at the amount of water added: strictly follow the dosage instructed by the tile adhesive manufacturer to add water. If the water is not standard, the performance of the tile adhesive will be affected, resulting in uneven shrinkage, cracking, hollowing and even falling off.
2. Look at the mixing time: not less than 15 minutes, two times of mixing, fully mixing tile glue can not only operate superior performance, but also play a good adhesive performance of tile glue.
3. Remember not to add cement or yellow sand to the tile glue, which changes the scientific ratio of tile collagen, which can easily lead to the performance degradation of tile glue and even serious security risks.
4. tile glue can not be added water secondary use. After more than 4 hours and a half dry solid, be sure to discard.
