TDW-III Large Slab Tile Adhesive is a polymer-modified cement-based tile adhesive.

It has strong adhesion and is more flexible, able to withstand the stress caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the adhesive layer.

Suitable for bonding tiles to drywall, fiberboard, plywood, or existing finishes (tiles, etc.).

The application of mosaic, terrazzo, and other types of stone slabs, as well as larger-sized stone slabs.

It can be directly applied to concrete, cement plaster, concrete slabs, plastered brick surfaces, and some waterproof coatings;

Suitable for bonding marble, natural stone, mosaic, thin slab, large slab, and other ceramic tiles with a water absorption rate of less than 0.5% to indoor and outdoor walls ;

Applicable specifications: Porcelain slabs with dimensions ≤ 900*1800mm (no adhesive required).

The product conforms to JC/T547-2017 The main requirements of the C2 TE S1 standard in " Ceramic Tile Adhesives" are as follows:

Surface treatment:

• The surface used should be firm, clean, free of hollow areas, oil stains, wax stains, release agent on tiles , and other loose materials;
• Painted surfaces should be roughened to expose at least 80% of the original surface.
• After the concrete surface is completed, it should be cured for at least 28 days before tiling can be laid, and the newly plastered surface should be cured for at least 7 days before tiling can be laid;
• Old concrete and plaster surfaces can be cleaned with industrial detergents or degreasers, then rinsed thoroughly with a pressure hose.
• The surface must be dried for 24 hours before tiling can be done.
• For surfaces with loose substrates and high water absorption, or surfaces where surface dust is difficult to clean thoroughly, a sand-fixing agent can be applied first.
• For substrates with high water absorption or in high temperature and dry environments, it is best to moisten the substrate until it is dry on the outside and moist on the inside before construction.

Construction process:

• Pour the powder into water and stir until it forms a paste. Note that you should add the water first and then the powder. Use an electric mixer to stir .
• The mixing ratio is powder:water = 4:1;
• Mix the water and powder thoroughly until there are no lumps of raw powder. After mixing, let it stand for ten minutes and then stir it slightly before use to increase adhesion.

We recommend using the scraper method, the specific steps of which are as follows:

• Use a notched scraper to apply the adhesive to the work surface, ensuring even distribution and creating a serrated pattern. After each application (depending on the weather temperature), press the tile onto the surface within the allowed drying time.
• When selecting the size of a notched scraper, the flatness of the working surface and the unevenness of the back of the tile should be taken into account.
• If the grooves on the back of the tile are deep, or if the stone or tile is large and heavy, double-sided adhesive should be applied, that is, adhesive should be applied to both the working surface and the back of the tile at the same time.

Precautions:

• The construction temperature is 5-35℃ ;
• The water-to-powder ratio can be adjusted appropriately depending on the substrate, weather, and construction conditions .
• When working in rainy weather, it is essential to take proper protective measures and ensure that the work area remains dry for 24 hours after tiling.
• The adhesive should be used within 1-3 hours, depending on weather conditions.
• Never mix dried adhesive with water before using it ;
• After the tiles are laid, the grouting process can only proceed after the mortar has completely dried (approximately 24 hours).
• When applying wall stickers, be sure to take proper temporary fixing measures.

Recommended dosage:

• TDW- III tile adhesive is approximately 1.7-2 square meters per bag. The specific amount depends on the substrate and the tile.

Shelf life:

• Unopened products should be stored in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, the product has a shelf life of 1-2 months .

Safety regulations

• This product contains cement and may irritate the eyes and skin. Therefore, please wear appropriate protective equipment during application. If the product accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention promptly.
• Friendly reminder: The included palletizing wrap and wooden paddle at the bottom will better protect the product from water, dust, and moisture, and safeguard the packaging. Therefore, please do not damage them before opening and use! (Stretch wrap and pallets are not included for small quantities)
