The mosaic can prevent intergranular corrosion, alkali formation, and affect the aesthetics of mirror mosaic.

Preliminary preparations

1.Surface preparation: The surface must be flat, firm, and clean, removing dust, grease, and loose materials; protrusions/hollow areas must be removed, and depressions should be leveled with polymer mortar; highly absorbent surfaces can be moistened appropriately, but there should be no standing water.

2.Materials and tools: Glue, water; electric mixer, notched scraper (usually 3-8mm tooth pitch), sponge scraper, rubber mallet, tile cross, sponge, etc.

3.Tile treatment: Vitrified tiles/large-format tiles are recommended to be coated on the back; ordinary ceramic tiles should be soaked in water for 2 hours and then dried until there is no water on the surface.

Mixing the adhesive (critical step)

1.Ratio: According to the packaging instructions, the common powder-to-water ratio is about 4:1 (e.g., 5kg powder to 1.5kg water), which can be slightly adjusted.

2.Steps: Add water first, then add powder; stir with an electric mixer for 3-5 minutes until a smooth paste without lumps is formed; let stand for 5-10 minutes, then stir again to activate the additives.

3.Note: Do not add water and remix after it has dried. The working time of the mixed adhesive is about 1-2 hours (depending on temperature and humidity).

Glue application and installation

1.Apply adhesive: Use a notched scraper at an angle of about 70° to scrape parallel textures on the base surface, with a thickness of 3-5mm; each application of adhesive should be ≤1㎡ (smaller in summer) to avoid drying too quickly; for large tiles/vitrified tiles, it is recommended to apply adhesive to both sides (scrape a thin layer on the back) to prevent hollowing.

2.Laying: Align the tiles with the control lines, gently tap with a rubber mallet to release air, and ensure full coverage; use a cross to leave gaps (2-3mm for small tiles, 5mm for large tiles); complete adjustments within 10-15 minutes to prevent the adhesive from hardening.

3.Mosaic: Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back, then gently pat and press it down after installation; after about half an hour, remove the damp paper, check for any missing adhesive, and then fill in any gaps; after about 1 hour, grout the joints and clean up any excess adhesive promptly.

Finishing and Maintenance

1.Cleaning: Wipe off any remaining adhesive with a damp sponge within 30 minutes of installation; after it dries, gently scrape it with a utility knife (do not scratch the tile surface).

2.Maintenance: Avoid rain, sun exposure, and frost within 12 hours after construction; people can walk on it and grout after 24 hours; clean up any excess material promptly after grouting.

Precautions:

• The construction temperature is 5-35℃ ;
• The water-to-powder ratio can be adjusted appropriately depending on the substrate, weather, and construction conditions .
• When working in the rain, it is essential to take proper protective measures, and ensure that the work area remains dry for 24 hours after completion .
• The adhesive should be used within 1-3 hours, depending on weather conditions.
• Do not mix dried adhesive with water before using it .

Safety regulations

• This product contains cement and may irritate the eyes and skin. Therefore, please wear appropriate protective equipment during application. If the product accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention promptly.
• Friendly reminder: The included palletizing wrap and wooden paddle at the bottom will better protect the product from water, dust, and moisture, and safeguard the packaging. Therefore, please do not damage them before opening and use! (Stretch wrap and pallets are not included for small quantities)
